SCHOLARSHIP SPONSORS NEEDED

In a few months the Burgess Society's Education Department will again offer an exciting and diverse selection of summer classes and programs in the natural sciences.  Designed for children ages 3 to 12, these sessions held throughout July and August will cover a range of topics.  Although we have always tried to keep the enrollment cost for these classes as low as possible, many of the area's less fortunate children are unable to participate, since their parents cannot afford the registration fees.  Last year generous donor support enabled us to provide 49 hours of half and full scholarships for deserving children.  We hope to double that number of hours in 2017 with your help.

Here is part of a note received by our Education Director Mary Beers from a participating scholarship family:

Dear Mary Beers,
Thank you so much for the half off scholarship you gave me for my boys to attend a week of classes this summer.  My husband and I are extremely grateful for it.  It is so highly appreciated.  I know the boys will have a wonderful time.  I am so excited that they will both have the opportunity to attend this summer.  Thanks again so very much.

A donation of $150 will enable a needy child to take a full week of summer classes.  A $75 gift will provide a half scholarship.  If you would like to become a Scholarship Sponsor, donate here or  mail your check in an envelope marked Scholarship Fund to the Thornton W. Burgess Society, 6 Discovery Hill Road, East Sandwich, MA  02537.

Thank you!
