This year for Independent Bookstore Day, Titcomb’s Bookshop is celebrating beloved Sandwich children’s author and naturalist Thornton W. Burgess with themed activities for children and families. Meet Peter Cottontail and take a picture with him at our Burgess photo booth from 10:30am to 12:00pm. All day, children of all ages can participate in a Burgess character scavenger hunt at the bookshop, to win fun prizes. There will also be a craft station with a Burgess-themed craft that you can take home. In celebration of Thornton W. Burgess’s 150th birthday, there are events around the Town of Sandwich throughout the year. Thornton W. Burgess tee shirts (sponsored by the Friends of Sandwich Town Archives) will be available for purchase at Titcomb's starting April 26th.
